Griffin Welcomes British Consul General Bell to Arkansas

Says, ‘we had productive discussions regarding strengthening ties between Arkansas and
the United Kingdom and potential areas of greater economic cooperation, including the aerospace industry’

LITTLE ROCK – Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin issued the following statement regarding British Consul General Karen Bell’s visit to Arkansas:

“I was honored to host British Consul General Karen Bell during her time in Arkansas. We had productive discussions regarding strengthening ties between Arkansas and the United Kingdom and potential areas of greater economic cooperation, including the aerospace industry. The longstanding special relationship with the United Kingdom is strong, and I see numerous opportunities to grow Arkansas jobs by pursuing increased trade and exports mutually beneficial to Arkansas and the United Kingdom."

Consul General Karen Bell issued the following statement:

“It has been a huge pleasure to be in the beautiful state of Arkansas this week. We had some really interesting conversations about bilateral business opportunities. I am also excited about increasing the number of students from Arkansas who spend some time in the United Kingdom, including through the prestigious Marshall Scholarship programme.”
