Asa Hutchinson and Arkansas GOP Treading On Dangerous Ground

been able to accomplish the takeover of Arkansas health care with the help of the Democrat vote, culminated in the latest bill filed by Senator David Sanders (

Democrats have voted as a bloc with Asa on these key issues this session. The bottom line is Arkansans hate Obamacare, and they will not stand with any party that doesn't fight it. Asa and his leaders have put all our conservative Republicans, that conservatives have worked for years to get elected, in a bind and is hurting all their reputations because people see them now part of the Republican party that betrayed the voters.

Unfortunately and I hate even saying this, but anything good these conservatives are doing is not even on the radar with most of the grassroots because Obamacare overrides all these other issues. And when a state or nation turns socialist, then all the good things are swept aside. Obamacare is already covering abortions, for example.

If those conservative Republicans don't take some bold steps to show they are opposing Obamacare plan as being put forth by the Republican leadership through this SB343 on the House agenda today and SB828, the bill that Senator Sanders just filed on Friday to be heard in committee this Tuesday, then their base will have no basis to defend them in the next election. EVERY GOOD THING CONSERVATIVES HAVE DONE IS TOTALLY OVERSHADOWED BY THE OBAMACARE ISSUE. I can't emphasize that enough. It may not be fair but that is the way it is.

Someone could amend SB343 on the House floor today and at least get a vote as to who would support the state exchange and who wouldn't. Even if you can't win the vote, we would at least have the evidence that you tried.

See below for a paragraph that describes SB828 by Senator Sanders. I would highly recommend that you read the entire article to see just what the Republicans have brought to Arkansas. At this rate who knows whether in two or three years Republicans will actually vote for a single payer system which Vermont is planning to do under these wonderful waivers that Sanders is promoting in his bill.

I know that many in the party and legislature think a fight in the party is the worst thing that can happen, but I believe under these circumstances if we don't fight the leadership, we are doomed. I don't know any other way to fight it, other than reveal it for what it is. We have been fighting the leadership dictatorship in Little Rock ever since I have been involved in politics in Arkansas- about 30 years and have watched this played out over and over. Arkansans across the state are saying nothing has changed since the Republicans took over. Many of them are as disappointed as they were when Obama was elected the 2nd time, and I fit into that category.

For you that are true conservatives, I apologize for having to write this letter but that is one reason I am so frustrated - because your efforts are being destroyed when you are doing your very best and taking stands that can destroy your careers in Little Rock. It should not be that way. I hold the leadership responsible for that.

Following is a paragraph on David Sanders SB828 as described by some of the most reputable people in Little Rock that had the most to do with getting conservatives elected to the legislature this session, Conduit for Action (CFA).

This is the first paragraph of Conduit for Action:
SB828 gives three state entities and one non-profit organization the absolute authority to obtain federal waivers to change state policy concerning health care and insurance, without the need of future state legislation. SB828 sets the stage for continuation of Arkansas’ Obamacare programs without the issue having to comeback for new law by the legislature. What could these four groups do without the Legislature? Anything our crazy federal government would allow. - Read More

Move to Texas. That's where I was born and raised, and I am about fed up with my Arkansas experiment. This state's so-called conservatives are a bunch of wishy-washy moderates who really don't have the stomach to stand tall against socialism. Sanders is a disgrace, but he's not the only one. Anyway, secession is coming and I can only hope I can get back to the new Republic of Texas before I end up stuck in this pit of socialism and cowardice.
