Arkansas Republican Party Chairman Calls for Apology From Colorado Congressman

LITTLE ROCK, Ark –Republican Party of Arkansas Chairman Doyle Webb called for an apology today from Congressman Jared Polis of Colorado for his personal attack on Iraq veteran Tom Cotton.

Chairman Webb said, “I am very disappointed by the recent comments made by Congressman Polis. Disagreements are common in Washington, and differences in opinion can lead to workable solutions, but making public comments attacking a United States Army Veteran is appalling.”

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), serving his first term in the Senate following one term in the House of Representatives, is a retired United States Army Veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star, a medal awarded to individuals for meritous service in a combat zone. Cotton is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

“I believe Representative Polis should apologize to Senator Cotton. His comments are simply unacceptable. Instead of calling the Senator names, he should be thanking him for his service to our nation, and for protecting the freedoms we enjoy daily”, Webb stated.
