Governor Huckabee Endorses Senator Jason Rapert

Conway, AR – Senator Jason Rapert has received the endorsement of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee for re-election to Arkansas state senate District 35.

“I’m asking you to vote for my friend, Senator Jason Rapert,” states Governor Huckabee. “He’s in a re-election battle, and the reason so many people are coming after him is because he’s had the courage of his convictions. You know it’s what we say we always wanted in someone running for office – that they would do exactly what they said – and he’s done that. [Jason Rapert] has been a staunch champion for the sanctity of life, for natural marriage, and for cutting taxes and making Arkansas government accountable.”

“I don’t know why people wouldn’t re-elect him,” Governor Huckabee stated.  In 2010, Rapert was the first Republican senator elected to senate district 18 since Reconstruction at the end of the Civil War.  He was re-elected to senate district 35 in 2012 representing Conway.  He is currently the Chairman of the Insurance and Commerce Committee and is regarded as one of the most conservative senators serving in our state.

“It’s an honor to have Governor Mike “Huckabee endorse me for re-election,” says Senator Jason Rapert.  “I know we share the same Arkansas values and we stand together on the issue of marriage and the sanctity of life.”
