Arkansas 2nd Congressional District Democrat Candidate Desperatly Using Deception

Democrat Pat Hays new ad touts NRA membership despite the fact the NRA gave Patrick Hays an "F" rating!

The French Hill campaign noted this deception:
Patrick Henry Hays, Democrat candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, launched a new TV ad cementing his status as a 26-year, career politician who will say anything to win. In the ad, Hays claims to be committed to the Second Amendment and states, “I’m a proud member of the NRA.”

The Facts: Hays is the only candidate running for office in Arkansas with an “F” rating from the NRA. The NRA has committed hundreds of thousands of dollars in TV, mail and digital advertising to defeat Pat Hays. Hays may claim an NRA membership, but the NRA is ashamed of Hays’ reckless record on guns.

The Question: If the NRA is working to defeat Hays, why would Hays boast about being a member of their organization in a TV ad?

The Answer: “Patrick Henry Hays is a 26-year, career politician who will say anything to win an election. Hays has an ‘F’ rating from the NRA, calls Obama his ‘star quarterback,’ and supports Obama’s liberal gun agenda,” said Jack Sisson, campaign manager.
As reported on October 10, 2014: Former North Little Rock mayor Patrick Henry Hays received an ‘F’ rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA) because of his Second Amendment record while in office. Hays was one of the only mayors in Arkansas to join Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition. The coalition supports new federal firearm regulations, including new restrictions on ammunition, gun transportation and gun shows. The coalition also advocates for new federal gun registration mandates. The city of North Little Rock is no longer a member of the coalition. There are currently no towns or cities in Arkansas’ Second Congressional District participating in the coalition. Republican congressional candidate French Hill has both an ‘A’ rating from the NRA and the organization’s endorsement.

“26-year career politician Patrick Henry Hays’ ‘F’ rating from the NRA is just one more reason we can’t afford him in Washington,” said Doyle Webb, RPA Chairman. “Hays will support President Obama and Mayor Bloomberg’s reckless gun control agenda.”
When asked about this latest situation, French Hill said: “I am proud of my NRA endorsement and ‘A’ rating. While my opponent supports more government mandates and President Obama’s liberal, gun agenda, I will hold President Obama accountable and fight for common sense, Arkansas values.”
