National Rifle Association Endorses Griffin in Lieutenant Governor Race

Griffin says, 'I will continue to protect and preserve our Second Amendment rights'
LITTLE ROCK - Second District Congressman Tim Griffin has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the nation’s largest Second Amendment organization, in his race for Lieutenant Governor. Griffin, a Republican, earned an “A” rating from the NRA for his pro-Second Amendment voting record. Upon receiving the endorsement, Griffin released the following statement:

“I am proud to have earned the endorsement of the National Rifle Association. I oppose proposals restricting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens and believe that the tried-and-failed, anti-Second Amendment policies are counterproductive. Arkansans can rest assured that as lieutenant governor, I will continue to protect and preserve our 2nd Amendment rights.”Chris Cox, Chairman of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, said,“During your tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, you have consistently opposed all attempts to ban lawfully owned firearms and magazines, and have stood strong against President Obama and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control agenda. In addition, to safeguard Arkansas’s rich hunting heritage you voted for legislation to protect traditional hunting ammunition, open more federal lands to sportsmen, and allow law-abiding Americans to carry firearms on land managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The Second Amendment and our right of self-defense are very important to Arkansans, and your position on these issues demonstrates a stalwart commitment to the rights of law-abiding gun owners and hunters.”Full endorsement letter from the NRA.
