Rutledge Statement on Unemployment Figures

Little Rock, Ark. (August 20, 2013) –  Today, former Prosecutor and Republican candidate for Attorney General Leslie Rutledge issued the following statement responding to recently released unemployment statistics for Arkansas:

“Under President Obama we have seen unemployment rise to 7.4% in Arkansas – up from 5% in 2008.  Unemployment in our state has been stagnant for the last year.  These figures are troubling, and a direct result of the Obama Administration’s assault on Arkansas jobs through Obamacare and other job killing policies.  These policies are a part of the Administration’s relentless march toward total federal overreach and over regulation, which are resulting in a stranglehold on Arkansas businesses.  Our state needs an Attorney General with the experience and willingness to stand up to the team of Obama bullies as they stretch, contort, and trample our Constitution, our freedom, and our opportunity.  I am the only candidate in this race with experience of standing up for Arkansas.  As Attorney General, I will protect Arkansan’s freedom and opportunity – because without freedom, we can’t have opportunity.”
