3 Democrats Bow Out In the Arkansas 1st Congressional District

Three well-known Democrats said Wednesday that they would not run next year against Republican U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford in what could be a key race for control of the U.S. House:
  • Former Democratic nominee Chad Causey, who lost to Crawford last year.
  • Senate President Pro Tempore Paul Bookout.
  • Senate Democratic Leader Robert Thompson
Other potential democrats liberal candidates for the seat include 2nd Judicial District prosecutor Scott Ellington, Jonesboro businessman Steve Rockwell and former Land Commissioner candidate L.J. Bryant.
