Griffin: ‘Like most Arkansans, I support’ Keystone XL Pipeline
Bill extends transportation funding, moves Keystone XL pipeline forward
Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) statement after House passage of the Surface Transportation Extension Act (H.R. 4348):
three months ago today, President Obama killed thousands of jobs that would be created by the Keystone XL pipeline. Like most Arkansans, I support this pro-jobs project that will strengthen our national security by making us less dependent on Middle Eastern oil. And once again, the House has led the way in moving the Keystone XL pipeline project forward, and the Senate should join us
in this effort.”
H.R. 4348 would provide a three-month extension for programs under the Highway Trust Fund at current levels. In addition, it would direct the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to issue a permit for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline within 30 days of enactment.
